Hotel and Restaurant Pathway

Hotel and Restaurant Pathway

This segment begins at the Lagoon as a raised, minimal disturbance concrete, 8-12 ft. wide pathway connecting to the entrance of the Buccaneer Hotel. With cooperation from the communities this pathway could run along the Shoy’s road to the Tamarind Hotel to the Green Key Marina and then along the roadway to Cheeseburgers Restaurant and on to Chenay Bay Hotel and Restaurant. This corridor segment would give hotel and restaurant users options for travel and connecting to services in Gallows Bay and Christiansted and beyond. This segment would allow communities to have more active lifestyles and give other communities access to public beaches and places of interest. This will lay the foundation for new business growth for all, from guides to new business venues i.e. bike shops and apparel outlets and food options and support the growing Air B&B industry. Depending on the level of support other routes for the pathway can be determined. This segment can be joined to the Maroon Ridge Historical Trail that will connect to other East End neighborhoods and places of special interest.

Collaboration between the DPW, DPNR offices, Hotel and Restaurant Owners, Home Owner Communities and Residents is needed, Public Safety, TVIL, SEA, Churches and Dept. of Sports, Parks and Recreation.
